The kits

Primary kit
|
Template: Bespoke design
Club badge & Hummel: Silicone. All other sponsors: Sublimated. Seemingly drawing inspiration from numerous previous kits, this is City's first centralised kit since 2002/03. Navy blue has been replaced with a lighter shade, more closely matching that on the club crest. The material has tonal pinstripes as seen on kits from the 1980s. The club hailed this kit as "a work of art" with "attention to detail oozing through the shirt," although in reality the shirt feels a little cramped and disorganised. This is the only shirt to feature York College on the back, the others being sponsored by SpeedQuizzing.

Change kit

Template: Bespoke design
Club badge & Hummel: Silicone. All other sponsors: Sublimated. The sunflower yellow change kit follows the same template as the primary, with the addition of four navy pinstripes. The club badge is the major talking point here; it's a homage (although not identical) to the one used from 1969-73. The viking longboat from last season's kits survives only on this jersey, with the primary and alternate jerseys both having a lion in its place.

Alternate kit
|
Template: Bespoke design
Club badge: Embroidered, stitched on. Hummel: Silicone. All other sponsors: Sublimated. Easily the pick of the three kits for this season is this tastefully re-imagined version of its 1996/97 counterpart, the famous Inter Milan-inspired kit. Having been used increasingly in club leisurewear ranges, the bar and lions logo makes a welcome return, appearing for the first time on a first-team jersey since 2001/02.
