Y-fronts live on, briefly
City wore the 2019/20 jerseys for the first four games of the season due to delays in the delivery of stock caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The shirts retained the 2019/20 number set and sleeve patches, with no names appearing on the back. They were combined with the home and alternate shorts for the new season.

Template: Bespoke design
Club badge: Plastic (heat-applied). Under Armour: Embroidered. All other sponsors: Sublimated. This design finished last in the previous season's fan vote and yet it has the dual honour of being worn in both the last game at Bootham Crescent as well as the first game at the LNER. It was likely chosen out of convenience, given that the completion of this season was in some doubt.

Club badge: Plastic (heat-applied). Under Armour: Embroidered. All other sponsors: Sublimated. This kit most likely fell foul of the delivery delays caused by COVID-19 as it would probably have been used in the away games at Southport and Leamington. Due to additional difficulties in fulfilling fixtures, this kit was never worn.
