York City centenary crest case study

York Minster inspired brand pattern

In addition to designing York City F.C.'s centenary crest, I also designed a brand pattern that drew inspiration from York's famous Minster. This brand pattern would be used on the football club's kits for the 2022/23 season. I looked at the shapes that made the Minster so unique and abstractly placed them together to form the kit's base pattern. If you look at the kit's design, you can see key York Minster features such as 'The Rose Window' and the 'Five Sisters' (amongst other recognisable features) woven into the design.

In addition to designing York City F.C.'s centenary crest, I also design their historic 2022/23 season home kits. The design takes inspiration form the iconic York Minster. If you look at the kit's design, you can see key York Minster features such as 'The Rose Window' and the 'Five Sisters' (amongst other recognisable features) woven into the design.

Centenary season campaign identity

In addition to the club's official centenary crest, I also designed a secondary identity that will be used on select merchandise, marketing and business collateral throughout the centenary crest 2022/23 campaign.
