It is not known whether the home shirts changed to stripes this season, or in 1923-24, but what is now clear is that City's first choice kit was maroon and white stripes. The front page of the Citizen in October 1924 describes the club colours as "Maroon and White, White Knickers" and the accompanying photograph shows the jerseys as being striped, with the central stripe being maroon. The stockings also appear to be the same shade as the maroon stripes, although it is quite possible that they be black. The kit worn by the players on the right-hand side of the photograph looks like the old maroon home jersey word with similarly coloured shorts and stockings and was presumably used as a change kit.
